Operational Definition
Defines a construct in terms of precisely how it will be measured in a specific research study.
- Ex: Extraversion is defined as the total score on the eight extraversion items of a personality questionnaire.
- Ex: Talkativeness is defined as the number of words a person speaks during a ten-minute recorded conversation.
- Ex: Conscientiousness is defined as the number of assignments a student turns in before the due date over one semester.
