Perceptual Constancy
The tendency to perceive an object as keeping the same size, shape, and color while the raw sensory data about it changes.
- Ex: A door stays rectangular whether it is shut or standing half open.
- Ex: A white shirt looks white indoors and outside in the sun.
- Ex: A friend walking away looks the same size rather than shrinking.
